History of Liberty

Liberty Christian Fellowship began with a small group of people meeting for fellowship in late 1992. As the group grew, leadership was sought and received by a great many excellent leaders. Men like Charles Trombley, Sharon Benell, and others visited the church and directed the new congregation. Larry Little from Mt Vernon, Missouri was the first pastor of Liberty. Pastor Larry was principle in developing the constitution and bylaws for the new fellowship. Larry and his wife Debbie led the congregation until July of 1994. Steve Dinkel approached the members in August of 1994 with a prophetic word and an offer to lead the congregation if the members desired. The prophetic word was: “The Lord has a specific call and purpose for this congregation. Although each of you have come to this church or established this church for a reason, the Lord Jesus has a specific purpose. This will be a non-traditional work, it will not look like most others, for others have been called to meet different needs, Jesus has called this Body to a specific work, a work of freedom and liberty. You have done well, and in this beginning Jesus is well pleased. Submit your plans to the Lord and your desires will be met and exceeded, not perhaps in the way you wish, but He will be glorified, and if Jesus be lifted up, He will draw all men unto him.”
